Ex19
16 On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled. 17 Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

Ever felt how the Israelites felt?

I think I did yesterday while I was doing my QT. A sudden fear crept in and I was pretty afraid I'm not prepared to face God in His holiness. There's this sudden sense of dirt and sin in me. Learning I need to make a response, I was reminded that whatever that's happening, it's preparing me for life after death - being purified in the process. I await the day of glorification.

Hmm.. Maybe the fear is because of the time. In the middle of the night.

Let's hope I'll be more godly.

Prayer requests:

1. For Eve, that she'll recover from her cough and flu.

Thanksgiving: Today started off well. I managed to wake up and leave the hse on time to print my notes and go for lecture on time. Thank God.

Just realised that I counted something wrongly in my lab report. Oh no, gotta re-do. Am feeling the stress now.

Thank God for a opportunity for a deeper r'ship with a jap cls fren. We agreed that we'll revise jap tgt. Do hope it'll happen.

----------

Just sthg interesting. Took this SS module (Singapore society module). Everyone's gotta take one of such a kind of module to fulfil the graduating requirements in teh course of studying. And the title's called nation building in Singapore. For the 1st 6 wks, we were given another perspective of the history of Singapore from all the propaganda that we had since pri school (social studies). [disclaimer: i don't think propaganda's totally bad] The oppositions that are portrayed in textbooks seem to really put them in a bad light. But after the lectures, I see that things are not exactly black and white.

Disclaimer: What is going to be said next is not meant to persuade you to riot or what k.

If anyone can remember, there's this period after world war 2 when the British suddenly called for an "Emergency". It seemingly was due to the communists and thus the need to do so. But.. The historians won't classify emergeny so. In fact, they can't classify what the emergency is about. Did you know that the British called for Emergency in Africa then as well? I didn't. Haha. Woo.. What has Africa got to do with communist? Hmms..

Another point to ponder. When the Party-then (you shld noe what it is) was getting the people to vote regarding the merger, the people weren't given the option as to yes or no. But 3 options as to which kind of merger they want. And the options were really lopsided to the Party (then)'s desired one. The other 1 was what the Barisan Socialis (so labelled as teh "communist" party which now i realised, are not really communists. They are merely educated in China and thus have a bit of that influence) asked for, as they saw the then governing party's desired one wld put the people as 2nd class citizens (the people will be citizens of Federation of Malaysia but do not have the rights to participate in political issues). Hmm, from some sources, the government seem to put this option in a rather bad light. And the 3rd one is one which the party itself didn't even know what the terms are. So as a lady from BS then suggested (was on Straits Times), the people were not given an option as to whether they want the fruit or not but were told to choose from rotten apples, rotten pears or rotten oranges. (Sthg like that)

Interesting. i guess if the objective of taking at least one SS module to graduate was to help us be more patriotic, it failed terribly.

Have been thinking, observing and learning a lot. God is faithful, He indeeds does not let you bear beyond what you can bear (1Cor10:31)

To share a tksgvg, I wanted to declare s/u (an option which allows u to have your module be graded as satisfactory or unsatisfactory and will not count towards ur final cap point) by today for one of my modules. So I used the com at my aunt's plc aft tuition. I attempted to log in to this website, but I just couldn't. And I thot it's got to do with the numbers given in this form which was given to us during matriculation that's like 2 years ago.

And when I just reached home, I started searching for it. Didn't find it but I found a piece of info which culd help. Then I typed in whatever info given. But I STILL CULDN'T LOG IN. ARGH. So I asked a friend for help and she suggested that she culd log in using the normal matric no and pin that we use for bidding (which I tried earlier at my aunt's plc) and I logged in!

Thank God for friends and provision for a solution.

You know, sometimes when you panic, you get pretty dumb. Hrmph, but it seldom happens for me. wahaha.

Visited my aunt during the new year and talked to my cousins. Am glad that we are able to socialize better. She lent me some of the vcds they bought for me to watch. Guess I'll only be able to do so in 2 months time. I can't wait for this sem to be over. Hrmph, the Lord recently helped me see that I need to learn contentment with whatever He's given. Learning to see the blessings in this whole process of struggling to manage. Please pray for me. Thank God for the discipline to study these few days.

Back to earth. Do hope for a more disciplined week. I hope I'll be more responsible in submitting my lab reports and being on time for lectures. Esp the wed 8am one. This is what I desire to work on this week. Be back for tksgvg and counting of blessings.

Romans Trail has reminded me to be hopeful in the midst of trials.

Rom 8:30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

A verse from what Pastor Jiang shared. I rmb that there was once someone suggested the tense for the word "glorified". It's in past tense. It means our glorification is certain. Yeah! Hope! =)

One fine day, my mum said something which I think it's quite funny for it to come out of her mouth. She went, "am I such a failure?" Then I was like "huh?" She replied saying, "I can't even feed you all properly. See how skinny you all are." That refers to my brother and I. I'm pretty sure it's not my father. Rmb chocolates never survive for more than 24hrs in the fridge with him ard. He eats 'em like a drug addict to a drug.

Hrmm.. She's right. My bro's getting from skinny to skinnier. The mouse on the arms are turning into lizards. But I've been eating so much I'm quite sure I can donate blood. (FYI, you need to weigh >45kg to donate blood.) Otherwise, i'm pretty sure it must be the "tapeworms" in me.

-------------------
Friday the 2nd

Bim and I agreed that Prof Yao's a really good lecturer! He's so good we just miss him so much. Argh, I don't mind repeating my organic chem module. But he's not lecturing this sem. Hrmph!

Bim and I were late for inorg. So during the break, we went to look for Xiu Ping to sit with her. (We were sitting at the very last row in the lecture because we were late) Then she forgot to take her water bottle. And I shouted "Bim! Is that your water bottle?" She glared at me for shouting too loudly. Then, she called me bo! What a kuku! Anyways, another friend who was sitting beside her at the last row responded when I shouted Bim. Ha haa.

Had lunch with bim and Tingyan. Lunch with 'em was fun. We were ordering food from the auntie at the Western food stall. Then Bim wanted to add an extra waffle to what she ordered. So she tried calling her. But the auntie didn't respond. Then I tried. She didn't respond as well. Finally, Tingyan tried in a rather "fierce" (maybe stronger and firmer) tone, she turned to uspromptly. So, auntie responds to ppl who are fiercer.

Bim talked abt the really bimbotic shows which made me want to watch it. Scary movie and ... Argh I can't rmb. It's abt this woman who's bimbotic. She studies fashion design and wanted to be a lawyer to get her boyfriend, who was a lawyer and broke up with her, back. And bim was talking this "origin of polka dots" thingy in the show during the bimbo's interview at Harvard before she got in. It sounds hilarious.

-------------------

Tuesday the 6th

Finally met up with my dear friend Si Si whom I haven't talked to for a long time despite being in the same sch and same major! Thank God for the time of sharing and for using me to share with her the experiences He's put me through now that she's also learning to take care of another person who just accepted Christ.

-------------------

Wednesday the 7th

After Jap cls, Li Qi (a new friend whom I got to know in Jap cls) and I talked to Yi Wen who's in 2 (out of 3 ) of my jap tutorials. She got 2 fractures in her hand while being a goalkeeper. Her coach was the one who attempted to score the goal. Ouch. But it's so cool. She actually plays soccer in the school.

Went back to KSS for the facilitating tingy. The girls said they'd miss me. I was so touched. =) I'd miss them too! They're such darlings. They won sweets and gave me some. One of them attempted to tell me a joke. The rest of them tried to discourage me from hearing the "joke". Ow.. It's ... not really funny. wahahaha..

Then went for st E with Shao Ning and Wei Yan. Had a fruitful time. I learned many tings myself because I am forced to think faster. Yep. Thank God for the different encounters. Do hope the rest will learn too.

Met up with Hannah and Steven (finally) for a good time of fellowship at night. I heard alot from them, witnessing how the Lord worked in their lives.

-------------------

Thursday the 8th

Went for jap lecture earlier and got the most favourable seat. My lecturer's also my tutor so he knows my name. Then Yi Wen sat beside me. She was late but she didn't want to sit in front bcos the lecturer always calls her too. Haha.. (He goes ard the LT and gets ppl to answer his questions. We were supposed to prepare anyway) Somehow, despite sitting in the middle of the small LT, someone who's sitting behind us dropped something. So YiWen and I were trying to help him pick it up. But YW's got the bandage and all on the fractured left hand, so I think she looked a bit flustered. The lecturer shouted from the front "Yi Wen san, daisho bu?" (Are you okay, Yi Wen) Then we look at each other and started laughing. Seems like we can't escape much after all.

She's really funny and dramatic too..

Oh, she's an econs major. And i think i met 3 econs major (Shirlyn Ang from west in yfc) that day.

-------------------

Friday the 9th!

Met up with Christine for 2 Peter. It was a fruitful one. We decided we'd work on perseverance and many other things. I'm so glad she's moving me out of the downward spiral. I want to bounce out of bed like I used to each time I wake up in the morning no matter how tired I was! I hope to be discipline and not stone in front of the tv (sometimes I do despite the show being some china programme).

Okay, that sounds a bit human-centered. The verse is 2 Peter 1:5Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, .... Because: 8For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So we desire to apply all diligence instead of lazing ard, doing things within our own comfort zone. And we prayed so earnestly.

Give thanks to God!

In nostalgic mode again.

Went for a Durga, my primary school friend's birthday party last fri. I thot it'd be like a wei tian kind party- simple, just eat and cut cake etc. But it turned out that she had a programme flow and emcee. (Oh tho the whole thing was all Indianish style, it was really good! Bollywood?! wahaha) Being the only person representing the pri sch gang, I'm so glad Jia Yan knew her. So we went and reached at abt 8plus only to realise that it was a planned party at Jom clubhouse. She didn't tell us to be in what kind of attire. So.. I guess that's why many of the guests reached late. It was supposed to start from 7pm. But the whole prog started only at 9pm. The first icebreaker was to guess the number of candies in the glass jar. JY suggested it'd be sthg regarding her birthday or age. So she guessed 210 initially. I glared at her. But she was right. It was 271, her birthdate and got myself a jar of chocolates and the jar. And JY finished half the bottle including 3 out of 4 of my kit kats. She's a kuku.

The wonderful thing was Mr Tan, my pri sch form teacher turned up! I'm so glad to see him. I looked for him when I was leaving and we chatted. OoOo.. His son, Brandan (I still rmb!) has grown up! He was still crawling on the floor when I last saw him! And becky's in JC now! Yirong if you see this, i'm sure you'd agree we've aged. Haizz.. She was only in P1 back then.

On the tuesday that just passed, I met Arthur Kok a.k.a Wailing's brother who was my jc GP tutor. He's now in moe headquarts. Cool hairstyle. Hrmph. I gave him my PSS letter before. Haha.

And today (thursday) is the most not stressful day because of the people. =) Was on my way to school and I met Hailing, a fellow chem major mate whom I met in one of the labs. And guess what, I realise that there was no test today but supposed to be next week! Ouch! And so I missed a phy chem lecture kukuly (cos the lecturer divided the whole co-hort into two batches to take the test during the lecture slots. Am in the 2nd slot). I feel.. kuku-ish. Anyways, HL very kindly offered me her notes! I'm so touched. We just hit it off. And started talking abt humans of the opposite sex. Hrmph. Wahaha.. And then, both of us wanted to pee b4 gg to LT. So in the end we were late. And I scrambled to a seat beside WeiCong, another person whom I met in another lab.

Since I thot it's a test, I didn't bring my notes. And it turned out to be a blessing in a sense. We were supposed to do the questions at the back of the notes and so we shared and discussed. Because I revised for the test, I culd do some of the questions. And I benefitted from his explanations that the lecturer went through in the lecture I missed too. He's very clear. Or rather smart me can understand what he's explaining. Yay. Ooo. And then, it turned out that he took an SS(Singapore Studies) module which I'm taking now and so I can gope all the readings from him! Yay. Save paper and money!

I learnt something from him too. Charcoal pills have carboh contents. He explained sayingthe actual amount of carbon in the pill is very little and they have to top it up with something that the body doesn't reject. And thus carbohydrates. Yeah. Tho I'm a bit doubtful but it made sense. Yip.

Met Sheila for lunch to unload a bit of ma stress to her. Haha.. She unload hers to me too.

On my way out of sch, I met Li Lin, a secondary school friend. Haha.. She was gg for choir which was the only reason why she's coming to school today. Hrmph.. We joked ard on the bus. Somehow.. Haha..

Then on my way to the Clementi MRT, I saw this JJ counsellor. He reminded me of the gooder memories during the JJ orientation. And the cheering for the JJ soccer team who won first in the nationals against VJ when I was in Year 1. Don't ask me what happened to the team in year 2, it was a disgrace.

haha.. memories flooding back. Ouch. I was counting the number of Singaporeans whom I'd possibly know, probably close to 1000 (discounted) from pri sch til now. Amazing.

How to live long enough to witness to all this people?

Btw, I was also counting the number of foreigners I know. I have a states acquaintance, a vietnamese lab partner (who's very shuai and cool! wahahahaha), another vietnamese friend from ES cls, many PRC friends, many M'sia friends. Moral of the story: you don't have to go to Doha to have friends ard the globe. (Disclaimer: Not against someone) Just go to NOOOS (NUUS)
