Met Kenneth Kwan, Alvin Chia and Gerald's shifu, yesterday.
Talked abt the good old times each of us have in Youth for Christ. There we suffered and persevered for the Lord's sake. There we encouraged one another in the process of working for the Lord. He shared as well abt his fellowship when he was in Australia that he teared before he came back. He must have shared a very close bond with the people there.
Now in Singapore, each of us, rising up to the call that the Lord has called us to, continue to do our best for our dearest Father. We give thanks for wherever the Lord has placed us.
I give thanks for this deep bond in the Lord Jesus Christ. To know that another fellow brother in the Lord is also working hard for Him in another church.
O rejoice in the Lord, He makes no mistakes.

O Rejoice In The Lord
God never moves without purpose or plan.
When trying His servant and molding a man.
Give thanks to the Lord though your testing seems long;
In darkness He giveth a song.
O rejoice in the Lord, He makes no mistake,
He knoweth the end of each path that I take,
For when I am tried and purified,
I shall come forth as gold.
I could not see through the shadows ahead;
So I looked at the cross of my Savior instead,
I bowed to the will of the Master that day;
Then peace came and tears fled away.
O rejoice in the Lord, He makes no mistake,
He knoweth the end of each path that I take,
For when I am tried and purified,
I shall come forth as gold.
Now I can see testing comes from above,
God strengthens His children and purges in love.
My Father knows best, and I trust in His care;
Through purging more fruit I will bear.
O rejoice in the Lord, He makes no mistake,
He knoweth the end of each path that I take,
For when I am tried and purified,
I shall come forth as gold.

went swimming with Hannah just now and met Aiming. Thank God for both meetings.
Was lamenting to Hannah. Argh.. Going thru the secondary school thingy again. The process is so horrible. I can't wait to get out. Sobs.

was listening to the recordings of our song practices. was suddenly reminded, are we singing to engage the listener's emotions, mind or ? What does it mean to minister to the people with a song?
I think songs can spark off and engage people's hearts to come before the Lord and rededicate themselves. But it's a thin line between someone crying and the next moment, continuing their lives forgetting what they've heard, as though nothing happened. (sounds like James 1)
Point: Only the Lord is able to work in the person's heart and regenerate him. Songs are merely means to bring people back before God.

For whatever it takes
To draw closer to You Lord
That's what I'll be willing to do
For whatever it takes
To be more like You
That's what I'll be willing to do
I'll trade sunshine for rain
Comfort for pain
That's what I'll be willing to do
For whatever it takes
To be more like You
That's what I'll be willing to do
There's a voice calling me
From an old rugged tree
And it whispers "Draw closer to me"
...
The song from Bible Trail 3 years ago. I'll get the lyrics out. It's so meaningful.

Am listening to some jap songs, looking at the lyrics in jap to practice my jap. Was reminded of somethg that's a bit funny that happened during one of my jap tutorials.
the class was divided into 3 groups to discuss whether a statement made is true or false. so one statement was,
Japanese kids must learn english from the age of 13.
My friend said in chinese (hoping our teacher won't hear), "should be false otherwise how come their english so bad" (direct chinese translation wahaha)
Anyways, the answer is true. Our teacher said that the Japanese spoken english is weaker as they don't have to prac in Japan. But written etc are not bad.

Taking a break from doing my lab report.
So many thanksgiving.
1) Last week, 3 of my kids (1 sister, 1 sister's younger sister, sister's friend whom i teach tgt) gave me a teacher's day prezzie. So sweet of them.

This the cute lil tingy. Haha, qiqi, i got two more tiggers! wahahah..
2) Yesterday, was so down. Just down for some reasons. Think i dwelt on something which i shldn't have. Phil 4:8 reminded me to think of these things. Towards the end of the day, I went for tuition. Meeting this kid just makes my day.
3) The kid who wanted to get me an octopus for teachers' day but ended up with the tortoise (after seeing the small lil one on my phone) was an encouragement to me. She actually spurted words like the d, s and whatever horrible words that one can utter when i started meeting her. Thank God that now, she's not doing so. In fact, when she blurts out any of those word, she'd try to substitute it for another word that's nicer to the ears. In fact the other boy as well.
Thank God was able to influence these young ones.

Decided that it's pretty good to have my thoughts sort out instead of allowing them to cloud my brains.
Went for Sheila's birthday celebration on Sunday. It was a simple meal with her parents and her another friend at her place in Hougang. She attempted to cook for us for the first time in her life. Her sis was as funny as usual. The family sabo-ed her to give thanks for the food. Her sis went, "you need ask for blessing for the food you cook just in case" When she was giving thanks, she cried. I suddenly realise that she's an emotional person after all. Yet, I remember in the midst of her cryings in the past, it never hindered nor affected her to finish whatever work she needs to accomplish. I'm amazed. After the meal, she sms-ed me. She shared sthg over the sms which caused me to think and remember how amazing our God is. I was wondering what to get for her, so I bought her a voucher from giordano and she happens to really need tops. So she said via sms: It's amazing how God puts things into our heads to make things work out wonderfully. Like the meal and my gift. =)
Yesterday, jap tutorial. Thankful to Father for providing 2 wonderful friends who have lunch with me every week after tutorial. Tho ytd I culdn't as I had to rush off for tuition. Then was meeting with the fish n' sheep ppl and cell ldrs' mtg. I'm refreshed by the process and things which happened before the meeting. I realize one can grow even by sitting in meetings. I learn to talk in a manner which is loving and tactful yet honest and truthful so that it helps the ministry. Am still learning tho. Then I hitched the ride on uncle fred's car. I yearn to reach home earlier, best before 11 these days. Cars and taxis are some means which I think of. Taking such transports are not as tiring as buses and mrts.
Things are getting better this week. Waking up early and I get things done quick. If not for the Lord, I'm quite sure I'd just continue in my stress and problems, and I'd whine and cry.
I started the day today by jumping out of bed. Which was good. Things start to become a bit horrible as the day unfolds. See certain people whom I didn't really want to see (shan't say why here) and etc. I guess, the Lord's teaching me to not dwell on certain things too much. They are too bad for my brains, my heart and my energy. I shld focus more on being nice and doing what's pleasing to Him instead of doing what I feel like.
Honestly, I wasn't thinking of doing this just now. Was just so upset that I'd want to just run away from the problem and do things the way I want. I guess was partly to save my own face and comfort too.
This is good, it's making me think of what's the good thing that I shld be doing.
Back to point. I was trying to be spiteful and thinking of doing whatever things to get back. I guess I was hurt. Not only by the person but also by my own expectations of the person. Was I prepared to love the person as the person is? I wasn't. And I found no motivation nor energy to really do what's best for the person (recalling that love is an intelligent(mind) willingness(heart) to do(will) what is best for the person)
Am glad how the twist of events in the day shifted my attention towards this whole issue. Saw LF at the arts bus-stop. I realise our conversation was really stupid. "WHAT are you doing here?" That was one. haha.. The joy of helping my kid understand his chemistry concepts and knowing I was of use was another. Seeing potato salad appear in starbucks was third. Appearing at suying's to get my jap proj photo out was fourth.
I hope i'm not getting too emotional.
Kz, back to work.
