Tao Huay thoughts
I recall this incident when I was a young, about lower primary age, I was on my way home with my mum and I was holding on to breakfast for the family.
And while I was walking on the brick floors, I tripped on one of them and fell. If I'm not wrong, I quickly got up with some scratches. I vaguely remember what my mum said to me but I remember this one thing very clearly, that she kinda scolded me for smashing the tao huay, the smooth tao huay. And on other occasions, I remembered when I fell, I almost spilled the lor mee (and got a good scolding from my mum)
Well, point was, is not your daughter more important than food?
I guess this is the kind of family background most of us Chinese grew up in. When our parents got upset with us for spoiling their stuff or indirectly causing them to waste money, we get scolded when we are even injured. They didn't realize that by doing so, they actually might have hurt the child emotionally.
On the other hand, as we grew to be more educated, we look at things more rationally, and we cannot understand why our parents say certain things to us. The things that they say seem to imply that they don't care for us.
I guess, they might not mean it that way. (Though it can be hurtful sometimes.) As much as they are not educating us properly in the 'right' manner according to many of our perspectives, we don't really know how to relate with them as well. Sometimes when I look at my parents, they say and do the really strangest things I cannot understand. I guess, I got to learn to be more willing to see things from their perspective. Sometimes I've got to take that step and 'give' in. And in retrospect, there were many times during my teenage years (puberty you know), my mum's given in many times to me.
And going back to the food incident, I remember that there was once I was so scared that my mum'd scold me about the food, I quickly stood up (from another of my falling, I fall down very often when I was a kid. muahaha) My mum saw I was bleeding and she actually asked if I was okay. You have no idea how touched I was.
I guess there has been many times I've chosen to dwell on the negatives and not look at the little nice things that I have.
I thank God for allowing me to see this.

Arminianism or Calvinism?
My stand is both. Or none.
Finally found the answer today.
Burden in heart relieved. =D

Humans can be very shallow. Or rather, humans ARE shallow.
They are so shallow that they only look at the external and judge a person. I was watching the liar game, and I was amazed how apt the show was in depicting true human response and nature. The people are just so dumb, to a certain extent to just keep believing in the man who lies his way through to get himself the most money and just keep getting themselves into deep trouble. What was worse was not that, was that they laugh and they make use of the protagonist who's an innocent and kind-hearted lady. They laugh at her for being very trusting. And they make use of that to achieve their selfish intentions. And the things that she does, they can't comprehend, because their hearts are so evil.
Well, I like the show. I like the fact that the protagonist didn't succumb to getting back or revenge despite being back-stabbed a zillion times.
Sighs, I need grace and love. towards those who judge my intention to be evil, selfish, whatever from their perspective. It hurts.
If you think about this.. In a group, if one 'nice' person exists, it is very likely that the nice person is considered to be the worst person in the group.
This is because when every other person except the nice person is not around and gossiping happens, the nice person stops others from gossiping against you. But when the nice person is not around, there is nobody who will actually stop the gossiping. And so, only the nice person is deemed as the worse person in the group because of all the gossiping. (For the sake of innocent and pure people, gossiping usually only occur behind a person's back)
How ironic life can be.
